The fix of removing the account and re-adding it works for me but of course this is very clunky and prevents playing without an internet connection, at least in my case. I have got this warning message consistently by trying to play offline, even with restarting the computer and trying to play before connecting to WIFI. I was trying to play while in between classes at the university I go to and had played while connected to the WIFI earlier in the day but disconnected from WIFI because we were doing a demonstration on rogue access points and I did not want my laptop connecting the the access point.
